Our Club

The Nazareth Area Society of Model Engineers (NASME) is comprised of a group of people who share their love of model railroading in different scales: O gauge, S gauge, N scale, and HO scale.  Our members work to upgrade and maintain our layouts year round, and open them to the public during the holiday season.

No matter what scale you model, you'll find a home in NASME.  You don't even need your own trains to run, as the club has an extensive collection of club-owned cars and locomotives to loan.  New to the hobby?  We also have a consignment shop with nearly everything you need to get started.
NASME is a 501 c.3 Organization

O Gauge

O is one of the most popular of the four scales we model, having been made exceptionally popular by Lionel, which saw its large boom after World War II.  Many fond memories can be found of having a Lionel Set at the Holidays.  O  Scale can be Conventional, TMCC, or Odyssey, often found with sound due to the large size.  It is also the most popular three-rail system modeled.
S Gauge

S was made widely popular by another well-noted brand: American Flyer.  While not as large as O, the big size lends to an ability to super-detail, while maintaining a smaller overall footprint.  There are larger scale, notably G (1:22.5), and 1 Gauge (1:32), The larger gauges are relegated to Garden and outdoor railroading.

HO Scale

HO means "Half O" due to its smaller size, but don't let that fool you!  HO is one of the most popular scales, having a small footprint, but big detail, as well as nearly every line ever to touch the rails.  It often shares track with the English OO Scale (1:76.2), and can be found in DC, and DCC (Digital Command Control) models, the latter often equipped with sound, much like on our layout!

N Scale

N is the smallest of the scale we model at 1:160 scale (1' = 160').  While there are four other smaller scales (Z 1:160, ZZ 1:300, T 1:450 and T 1:480).  These scales are not as popular, and are not as easily found as N.  N Scale can be DC or DCC, and sound equipped models.
